Adding as much information as possible will increase the amount of data that our advanced search algorithm has to assist an interested party in finding your listing quickly. Remember, we will edit your listing after submission to optimize your listing or correct any incorrect and/or missing information.
Finally review your listing to ensure your information is correct and then press the “Print Page” button located at the top left of the PDF form and fax it back to The Fire Truck Store at 410-574-6695. You may also use the PDF version of all these forms and fill them out by hand(Please Print), then fax them back to 410-574-6695.
Have Your Unit Appraised:
At this point we will begin to review your submission and use our seven (7) step process to appraise your vehicles and equipment. We always try to be realistic with our appraisals and ask that you are flexible with your terms and conditions. We also ask our customers (sellers) be realistic with their expectations regarding price and equipment included with the unit. We always set a Selling Price and a Bottom Line Price so there is room for negotiation and so the contact person can make a decision without having to go back to their company to ask about lowering the price. This makes the deal close faster and keeps the customer from going somewhere else to look at other units. Once a value has been established and agreed upon we will place your unit on our website, other associate websites and various trade publications as needed.
Quick Tips to help optimize your listing:
We have included several fields of contact information. Make it as easy as possible to reach your point of contact by supplying as many contact options as possible.
Pictures, Pictures, Pictures: Each listing includes a liberal photo submission allowance. Your photos will be automatically put into a thumbnail to the appropriate size for inclusion in your listing. Again, we will edit your listing after submission; this includes adding and deleting photos. You are allowed unlimited photos on the website, send as many detailed pictures as you can get. We can always use more pictures to send to the customers that will help sell your unit. Please include the following pictures with listing; all four (4) sides of unit, angle shots to include front and both sides (2) of unit, three (3) side shots with compartments open, pump panel shots (2) both sides, top view shot (1) looking from the cab back, multiple cab interior shots, individual compartment shots, front bumper shot, speedometer shot, any special feature shots that might help sell your unit. Pictures for ads must be around 640 x 480 pixels in resolution and 100 KB in size, but if all you have is bigger photos please send them and we will resize them for you. mages can be uploaded from your own computer. Just click on the “browse” button to open your computer’s folders to search and choose the picture you wish to include in your advertisement. Once you have successfully ‘uploaded’ your pictures to our e-mail system, our system will automatically include a ‘clickable’ thumbnail and main photo for website visitors to see.
Pick the category which best fits the true function of your apparatus: This is not always obvious, examples; you are listing an engine with an aerial device or listing a rescue with a pump, is your unit an engine with heavy rescue capacity or is it a heavy rescue with a pump? Try to anticipate what others may be looking for while submitting your listing.
Take the time to list all the equipment which comes with the apparatus at the time of sale. This has a larger impact on potential sales then most people give it credit for. Everyone wants more bang for the buck, be clear on how much bang is included.
Complete maintenance records are always a big plus when selling any type of equipment: It not only tells potential customers that you are thorough in your record keeping, but projects that you care about how your apparatus was cared for and maintained. If you kept maintenance records, be sure to check the box “Yes” after “Maintenance Records Available for Inspection” line on the Listing Information Form
Modify your Advertisement: If you need to edit or modify your new or used fire trucks, fire equipment or ambulance ad, please contact us at any time, we are always here to help. Make any modifications you need or just call to let us know how we can help you. Please make sure your edits and/or modifications appear as you want. This normally does not take very long, but may be 48 to 72 hours on modifications as well as on new listings, so please be patient. Thanks!
Please note, if your listing was uploaded during a weekend or holiday it may take longer for approval and to be posted.
